Thinkin' Lincoln: New MKS flagship is part of a banner year of intros ...

The new Bullitt has a 315-horsepower V-8, stiffer suspension, heavy-duty brakes and dark green paint, like McQueen's car. Available only with a 5-speed manual transmission, Bullitt goes on sale early in 2008 with a $31,075 base price. Ford plans to build 7,700.

But Ford will not be alone in rolling out new finery. Honda, for one, is trotting out a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle that it will lease to fewer than 100 retail and fleet customers next year. Toyota also plans a fuel-cell announcement but offered few details.

It does unveil the redesigned 2008 Sequoia and Nissan its 2009 Murano.

BMW of North America shows three new models: the 1-Series coupe, the M3 and the Mini Clubman wagon.

The 1-Series hearkens back to the BMW 2002 of the 1970s.

Delaney's life as a whistle-blower

But there's a price we pay for it.

How did your position at Alamo trucking company get you access to the two crime families?

You get lucky in life. We got to where we got because of the informant, Pat Kelly, the consigliere with the Bruno crime family, the North Jersey faction which was run by the DiNorscio family. It was a perfect storm. The DiNorscios were all in jail, and someone had to represent them on the street. Pat was designated, and he became an informant for the FBI. They gave him a choice: go to jail or work with these undercover guys we have in place. Pat became the vice president, and I was the president. He was the guy with the mob contacts. You can have great undercover people, but you need someone to walk you through the door.

This may be hard for you to quantify, but what was the single most dangerous experience you faced?

It wasn't one particular situation.

Forgotten Robert Frost lectures to be published

Several speeches and a discussion with poet Robert Frost, recordings of which were left forgotten in a college library, will be published for the first time.

Frost gave many lectures at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, an Ivy League school, from the 1940s through the 1960s.

Frost's lectures, part of a "great issues" series, were recorded on reel-to-reel tapes and small plastic discs known as flexographs. The college promised not to release the recordings in the series as long as the speakers were alive.

Frost died in 1963 after winning four Pulitzer Prizes for poetry, and then the recordings were mostly forgotten.

Sharapova ousts Davenport

Maria Sharapova looked in ominous form as she blasted former champion Lindsay Davenport out of the Australian Open on Wednesday.

The Russian fifth seed never let her opponent settle in the second round match, giving up no break points on the way to a 6-1 6-3 success.

Davenport, who came into the championship on the back of three tournament victories since her return from giving birth early in 2007, was made to look pedestrian by a player 11 years her junior.

The 2000 champion never got into an error-strewn first set but found her range in the second, firing winners in typical style from the baseline to hold Sharapova at 3-3.

However, the Russian got the crucial break in the seventh game and with Davenport unable to put enough pressure on the Sharapova serve, was able to break for a second time to close out the match.

Coming Soon: SR to Release E-mail Exchanges ... (Not so fast...)

Update: After reviewing the messages and our options (none good), we've decided not to post the messages. Here's the situation:

Of the 50 messages, a few have explicit photos embedded in the message. We can't publish those photos (one shows a toddler's penis). We also have a strong ethical policy against blurring or otherwise manipulating photos.

Some of the messages are completely innocuous. The rest of the messages only refer to attachments. Those attachments are explicit, so we can't publish them.

We've also gone through each message to blur e-mail addresses for privacy reasons.

So, if we don't publish any of the explicit images, and we refuse to blur, crop or otherwise alter them, all we're left with is a bunch of forwarded messages that say things like "take a look at this!"

We decided that did not advance the story in any significant way.
